Morogoro, Tanzania — 10 June,2025
In a bold step toward climate resilience and community-based environmental solutions, My Birthday Tree Organization (MBTO) has partnered with World Waternet to implement the transformative Spice, Fruit, and Water-wise Nursery Project in Morogoro, Tanzania.
This strategic collaboration aims to promote sustainable agroforestry and climate-smart agriculture by equipping farmers, youth, and women with knowledge and resources to grow spices, fruits, and drought-resilient tree species. The project also serves as a model for water-wise nursery practices, designed to thrive in semi-arid conditions while restoring degraded land.
The official kickoff featured engaging trainings, knowledge exchange, and community mobilization, with participants expressing excitement over the opportunity to improve food security, generate income, and contribute to ecological restoration efforts.
“This partnership symbolizes shared action for a greener Tanzania,” said Maria-Ward development officer, adding, “We’re not just planting trees—we’re growing futures.”
Through this collaboration, MBTO and World Waternet are empowering local communities to become climate leaders—demonstrating how sustainable agriculture and afforestation can go hand in hand to protect the environment and uplift lives.
